The education sector has almost entered into a storm. A big storm! The three very strong winds - Education Policy (NEP), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the omnipresent Internet, are poised to rock even the biggest of ships (schools). As we enter deeper into the storm, here is my straightforward question to every school leader - Is your school ready for this biggest-ever disruption?

Schools across the world are facing a "Digital Discipline" problem because of students indulging in overuse, misuse and risky use of the Internet. Among a big variety of digital issues, the following ones are especially a big headache for any school principal:

An acceptable use policy (AUP) is a set of rules that outline the responsible use of a school's technology resources. These resources may include computers, Internet access, and other digital devices. An AUP is designed to protect students, staff, and the school from potential harm that could result from the inappropriate use of technology.

DCIM Skills are a set of skills which empower a student to do 2 things: 1. Make the most productive use of the Internet for education & career, and 2. Stay safe from the 8 serious threats & risks of the Internet.

The use of digital technologies in schools has been constantly increasing in the past few years, but since the covid pandemic hit, it has exploded! Now, it's not an exaggeration to say that a school is a technology driven organization. And thus, managing the technology related issues is now a major to-do for the Principal and the school administration.

Hello dear school leaders! We are happy to see that many of you are warming up to the fact that teaching Digital Citizenship & Internet Maturity to students is now essential. Especially in the post-Covid world!

This is the message that the corona crisis has given to everyone on this planet... especially to schools. This "change" is better defined by the term "Digital Transformation".

iMature.in is happy to share that Sehwag International School, Jhajjar, has adopted our Digital Citizenship & Internet Maturity program for their teenage students. In the beginning our online course shall be taught to the students of grades 6, 7 and 8.

Schools are where real action on Digital Citizenship & Internet Maturity should happen! This time the real action has happened at The Billabong High International School, Bhopal! They have included DCIM in their curriculum for classes 6th onwards and will be the first school in India to certify their students on the same. While it is a ‘work in progress’ I have created a curriculum framework for teaching digital citizenship and Internet maturity to students of classes 8th and above in schools.
